Gigging musicians already know it, but this is an anxious time. I tried listing off everything that has happened so far and had to stop to catch my suddenly anxious mind. Do you guys remember that Australia was on fire this year? We’ve endured a lot together. We’ve learned a lot from these past few months, and together we will grow. We’ve been away for awhile, so let’s reintroduce ourselves.
Through times of uncertainty and change, Rocket Skates Recording aims to remain a constant within the Utah music community. Our goal is to be a place of safety and reprieve, where burdens are shared and eased through the creation of music. As we’ve all taken steps back to remind ourselves of what is individually important to us, music has remained to help us sort through and make sense of our emotions. Our hope is to create with you and to record this new inspiration – there are new stories to be told.
We view ourselves as historians, documenting crucial moments and stories from the lives of our friends and patrons. Music is a longstanding supplement to written history, and we know this will ring especially true for the music you create in the coming months. We hope to be a part of this creative process with you all. If your thoughts feel jumbled, but the notes are there, we hope to help you find the words. Our hope is to uncover new perspectives together. It has been and continues to be the greatest honor to collaborate with Utah’s musicians.
